Announcement of the cancellation of the Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Company
“Summer Fling” 2020
Loyal friends and supporters of the Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Company, it is with deep disappointment that I announce the cancellation of the “Summer Fling” social and fund raiser previously scheduled to take place on Saturday, the 15th of August 2020.
I want to reassure each of you that Fire Company members worked exhaustively to determine a way to hold our event, while still meeting the myriad of current guidelines provided by the state of Connecticut. Most importantly however, we could not in our minds provide a venue which would still provide for the health safety of our loyal and devoted neighbors who over so many years have supported our event through their attendance and generous donations.
We of course are hopeful for the return of our wonderful “Spring Fling” event in 2021 and a chance to thank you all in person for your unfailing support. In the meantime, your Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Company will remain dedicated and ready to meet the fire and medical emergency needs of the residents of Groton Long Point.
